About Me

Folks just call me Gor. My true gifts round me out to be an artist, musician, and chef. Professionally, I’m a web designer, programmer, and systems administrator. In a nutshell, I am responsible for the development, maintenance and security of Section 508 compliant and accessible web sites, implementing open-source technologies such as PHP and MySQL, with deployment on Unix-based platforms. For a more exhaustive run-down, please see my resume.

Bassist and Guitarist

Since 2004, I have been deeply immersed in applying my musical talents to God’s work. As a child, I began as a violinist. Unfortunately I was harshly ridiculed by others, which prompted me to take on the guitar. I acquired a bass guitar when I was 19. For years I goofed around with the bass and eventually began messing around with an electric guitar. I never really took it seriously and struggled for years.

Finally, in my mid 30s, I decided to break down the walls. I prayed that doors would open for the situation to take a turn for the better. In November 2004, I joined Frederick Church of the Brethren’s contemporary praise band, Living Water. Having never been in a band, I was going out on a limb, and placed all of my faith into God’s hands. This has been a true miracle, for I wouldn’t have been able to do it if I were left to my own devices.

Living Water plays on Saturday evenings at 5:38 and on Sunday mornings at 9:45. Each worship is a living testament of the wonderful individuals who open their hearts and souls to glorify God. Goran Halusa - Living Water - 2007
